This month we have had a lot of changes. Some have been hard to embrace, most have been a welcome change, one being our new home!
We live in a wild orange-colored house in the same neighborhood we lived in before, just about a mile or so down the road and around the corner. There are no street signs here, so getting directions to anywhere is a conversation that usually gives us a big laugh.
We are thrilled with our cozy home. There is color on the walls, a fireplace and enough bedrooms to hold all of us, and then some…which will be an entirely different post. We have a small veranda that we can see the sunrise from, and it glows a bright orange for about an hour every morning. It’s the perfect spot to harass the people walking by have a hot cup of coffee in the morning. It’s perfect and more than what our family needs. It is also in a quieter part of the neighborhood. If you have seen on facebook the stories of the crazy microphone man who used to plague our nights with noise and the same 3 chords on a ‘keyboard’ all night, you know how much we appreciate a quieter space.
Instead of microphone man, we have chickens and stray cats that roam around our yard, and several fruit trees providing a canopy over a garden (shamba) we hope to grow in the near future. We have a yard where the kids can play soccer and we can set up our slack line.
We pray that this house will be a place that can be used for many different purposes. I know God has a plan.
